Meaning of Accountant :
An accountant of a business organisation is an officer who is entrusted with the accounting function of the organisation. In other words, he is an officer who is responsible for the introduction, development and efficient working of the accounting system in the organisation. However, in the common parlance (i.e., in the general sense), an accountant is a person who has special knowledge of and skill in accounting work, and is qualified to do the accounting work.
